Announcing the 2027
Miss Orlando
Scholarship Pageant

The Miss Orlando Scholarship Organization is proud to announce the 2026 Miss Orlando Scholarship Pageant will be crowning 6 titles: Miss Orlando, Miss Winter Park, Miss City Beautiful, and their Teens.

Registration is open to eligible contestants state-wide.

How to Compete

Eligibility

Miss Orlando, Miss City Beautiful, Miss Winter Park and their Teens are statewide titles. 

 

Contestants who live, work, or attend school within the State of Florida are eligible to compete.​

​

To be eligible to compete as an at-large, local or state participant for either Miss America or  Miss America’s Teen in September 2027, you must: be a female, meet the age criteria as shown below, be living full-time as a resident of your state, or employed full-time in person, or enrolled full-time as a student at an accredited school/college.

  • Miss America 18-28: must be NO OLDER than 28 on September 30, 2027, and no younger than 18 on Sept 1, 2027.

  • Miss America’s Teen 14-18: must be no YOUNGER than 14 by September 1, 2027 and no older than 18 on Sept 30, 2027.

Teen Age Criteria- Additional Notes:

  • Miss America HQ allows the option for 18-year-old contestants to have a ‘pivot’ year to decide whether they would like to compete in the Teen or Miss divisions.​

  • Additionally, once an 18-year-old decides on the division she may compete in, she may not change divisions until the next cycle. Please proceed to your applicable State online application.

 

 


How to Compete:


Step 1: Register for the 2027 Miss America Cycle

  • Register as a New or Returning Member

  • Each contestant only registers ONCE per CYCLE

  • Complete the online application in full.

  • Pay the membership subscription fee of $49.99 + fees.

  • Sign your delegate agreement (Miss, Teen (Minor), or Teen (Adult))

Step 5: Keep an eye on your email leading up to competition

We may reach out if there are any issues with your registration or paperwork. Please respond in a timely manner.

After registration closes, a lot of final details will be heading your way!

 

Step 6: Follow us on Social Media

 

We will be announcing our 2027n contestants on out facebook and instagram and want you to feel the love! Share with your followers and tag us in your preparation for the crown!

Step 7: Compete!
 

  • Interviews will be held on campus at Rollins College January 1st, 2027 in the morning and afternoon.  Contestants will be given a timeline for the day ahead of time. 

  •  


  • You should plan to be on property from 9am until competition is complete for rehearsals, interviews and prep time.

  •  


  • Space is limited backstage, please do not overpack and stay tidy and respectful of everyone's getting ready areas.

  •  


  • Dinner will likely be sponsored for the contestants.  TBD

  •  


  • All items must be out of the Annie Russell Theatre immediately following the end of the competition.

  •  

  • Be on time, flexible and ready for an exciting day of competition!  We can't wait to see who will be joining Team Orlando 2027!

Phases of Competiton

Private Interview - 30% (Interview Attire)

​Each contestant participates in an individual 10-minute press conference-style interview with our panel of judges. Each Contestant begins the Interview with a 30 second Community Service Initiative opening statement.  Contestants  are questioned on their background as presented on their resume, their educational and career goals, their opinions on current events and social issues, and their interests, hobbies and extracurricular activities, including their Social Impact Initiative. With the final 30 seconds of the interview, candidates are given the opportunity to share a closing statement. 

Scoring is based on overall communication skills, including personality, intelligence, validated opinions, emotional control, overall first impression, and whether the contestant possesses the overall qualities and attributes of a Miss America Contestant.

On Stage Conversation - 10%

Each contestant will be asked a question on-stage before an audience during the pageant. Questions will be different for each contestant and will not necessarily be related to her platform or fact sheet. Questions will be determined by the Miss Orlando Board to be of relatively equal degree of difficulty. As with the private interview, scoring is based on overall communication skills, including personality, intelligence, validated opinions, emotional control, overall first impression, and whether the contestant possesses the overall qualities and attributes of Miss America.

Health & Fitness​ - 20%

Contestants will dress in athletic wear and demonstrate that they are physically fit, healthy and full of life. Scoring will be based on overall fitness, stage presence, personality and wellness.

Evening Gown​ - 20%

Contestants will present themselves in evening wear, which could be a gown or something a young woman might wear for a formal evening event. Judges do not judge the contestant's attire, but rather her walk, personality, poise, personal style and fashion sense. 

​

Talent/HERstory - 20%

Contestants perform a 90-second routine or Herstory of their own choosing. Some possible talents include all types of singing, dancing, gymnastics, instrumental music, dramatic or comedy monologues, spoken word, baton twirling and ventriloquism. Scoring is based on contestant’s skill and personality, interpretive ability, technical skill level, stage presence and the totality of all elements, including costume, props, voice, use of body and choreography.
