MISS & TEEN CANDIDATE DETAILS

Registration Requirements & (Important Deadline Dates to Follow)

 

STEP 1: REGISTER AS A CANDIDATE WITH THE MISS AMERICA ORG (MISS AND TEEN)

To become a Candidate please register at missamerica.org -- click "Candidates" drop down, and "Become A Candidate" drop down. Please follow the directions and before you click "ADD TO CART", type to enter, Orlando, City Beautiful, or Winter Park, for both Miss and Teens, Now you can click "ADD TO CART".

STEP 2: SUBMIT YOUR PAPERWORK AND REQUIRED INFO TO MISS ORLANDO

Send all requested files and information all together in one Email to missorlandomao@gmail.com by no later than

Sunday, February 27th, 2022!

  • Are you a Miss or Teen candidate?

  • Headshot (full page PDF)

  • Resume (PDF)

  • Social Impact Initiative/Platform Statement (PDF) (please make sure the title says Miss OrlandoMiss Orlando's OT and that it is signed and dated)

  • MAO Contract - scanned and signed, with required supporting documents (You will be required to bring a hard copy on the day of competition.)

  • Candidate Cell Phone and Email

  • Parent/Guardian Phone and Email (Teens only)

  • For your talent:

    • What your talent is (vocal, dance, twirling, etc.)

    • Music file, if applicable (no longer than 90 seconds, in mp3 file format)

    • If you will need a microphone, will you prefer standing or handheld?

    • Will you be bringing any props?​

 

STEP 3: PREPARING FOR COMPETITION

Mark your calendars for Saturday March 12th, 2022! 

As we draw closer to competition month, day-of competition schedules, reminders, and other information will be communicated directly with the candidates who have successfully registered and completed all steps above.

Tickets will go on sale in the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts Box Office 30 days before the event. We have sold out every year in this venue so make sure to get your tickets as soon as you can!

PHASES OF COMPETITION (TEEN)

  • Private Interview with Judges (6 minutes)

  • Lifestyle and Fitness (Attire selection and "choreography" is candidate's choice)

  • Talent (90 seconds)

  • Evening Gown/On Stage Question

 

PHASES OF COMPETITION (MISS)

  • Private Interview with Judges (10 minutes)

  • On Stage Question/Social Impact Pitch (20-30 seconds) - Candidates will NOT have a slide presented behind them

  • Talent (90 seconds)

  • Evening Gown

 

STEP 4: ARRIVE READY FOR COMPETITION!

  • Teen candidates must arrive with their $175 Registration Fee at time of check in (cash, check, or card!)

  • All successfully registered candidates will receive Email communication regarding their schedule for the day, attire, and all other "day of event" details.

Service, one of the four points of the crown has always been important to candidates striving for the opportunity to be Miss American or Miss America’s Outstanding TEEN.  To participate, contestants competing at any level in the Miss America system will now be expected to REGISTER as explained above.
